Using Speedie
Speedie provides free connection measurements and network calculators. Use it only on connections and systems you are authorised to test. Do not use automated traffic, bypass rate limits, disrupt the service or attempt to reach private networks through the website tester.
Understand the measurements
Speed tests transfer real data and can consume up to approximately 270 MB per run. Your network provider’s data charges and limits still apply. Browser, WiFi, device, routing and server conditions affect results. They are estimates for one route at one moment, not a guaranteed ISP line rate.
Latency is measured with HTTP requests, not ICMP. “Request loss estimate” counts failed or timed-out requests; it is not a direct measurement of packet loss. Gaming and streaming readiness are general guidance, not certifications or guarantees.
Website tests and calculators
The website tester fetches a public document from Speedie’s server. It does not execute JavaScript or measure a complete browser page load. Timing scores and security-header coverage are heuristics, not a full performance or security audit. Calculators use decimal units and simplified assumptions.
Results and availability
Shared results are browser-reported and are not independently verified or suitable as proof of a provider’s performance. The service may be rate-limited, changed or unavailable. Do not rely on it for safety-critical or time-critical decisions. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or error-free measurements.
Your rights and responsibilities
You remain responsible for your use of the service and the websites you submit. These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Third-party service names, where mentioned, belong to their respective owners and do not imply endorsement.
Privacy and changes
Read the privacy page for how measurements and local history are handled. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by the date at the top of this page.
